About the Role:

We’re looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test II to join our world-class Delivery Experience Team. This team builds Akamai’s Control Center—the face of Akamai on the web, offering tools, APIs, analytics, and services that let customers manage their accounts with efficiency and scale.

As an SDET II, you will qualify new and existing features in massively distributed data systems, build robust test automation systems, and collaborate closely with developers and QA teams to ensure high product quality. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud services and help shape the next generation of Akamai’s platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Qualify new and existing features of distributed data systems.
• Collaborate with developers and QA teams to test products efficiently.
• Design, create, and maintain robust test automation frameworks.
• Develop and execute test plans based on design requirements and code changes.
• Perform functional, regression, API, and UI testing across environments.
• Ensure high automation pass percentage and reliability of test suites.
• Investigate and analyze root causes of technical issues and performance bottlenecks.

Key Technical Skills:

Python, Java, TestNG, API Testing (Rest Assured, Postman, Requests), Selenium, Playwright, Jenkins CI, TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, Operating Systems

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in automation and manual testing.
• Strong coding skills in Python and Java for test automation.
• Experience with TestNG framework and automation pipelines.
• Hands-on expertise in API testing using Rest Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
• Experience in UI automation using Selenium or Playwright.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and OS fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
